Mommy & Daddy Have a Date Night!

So, my parents finally got to go on a date! They dropped me off at Grandma and Grandpa Miller's house and hit the town. Mommy took Daddy to the Bear Republic to taste their different beers. Then, they walked around Healdsburg together.
Meanwhile, I hung out with the grandparents and Auntie Sheila. I spent most of the time sleeping, but I did wake up long enough to interact a bit. I recently discovered my limbs and I have the habit of throwing my arms about and kicking my legs. My breathing pattern is still not established, so I also do a lot of gasping for air. Sheila says I am more dramatic than an opera. I think she secretly enjoys it!

The next night, Grandma Kathy came down to watch me again, while my parents went to their first softball practice. Sheila also came by to help out. I am really liking all of this attention.

Auntie April's Visit

Over a week ago, Aunt April came up from Walnut Creek to hang out. She was very nice to hold me and watch me while my parents got a little gardening done. Unfortunately, it was a very hot day. I don't do well in the warm weather, so I was a little fussy and lethargic. Auntie also found out, that when it is really hot, I like to throw up on anyone who is holding me. She kept playing with a toy that says, "Blah!," so I responded with my own "BLAH." Mommy heard April scream from the other room and was a little worried, until she heard laughter. Aunt April had a really good attitude about the whole thing. I hope she comes back again to play....although I cannot promise I won't try this stunt again...
Here I am with the monster onesie and toy April gave me. Yes, this is the one that says, "Blah!" OK, so maybe it says "Rahhh," but it is hard to tell.

Here is Daddy playing in the yard with his "Girls" (Emma and the chickens).

1 month old

On Wednesday, I officially turned one month old. Mom put me in an outfit that she picked out on the day they found out I was a boy. I kindly did not throw up on the outfit all day, which she appreciated. Some of dad's cousin's visited me: Molly, Meghan, Wally, and little Declan. The adults took turns holding me, while two-year old Declan focused on giving Emma hugs and checking out the chickens. Someday, when I get bigger, we are going to have to set up a play date. Thursday was very busy. Grandma Deanne came over on her lunch break to hold me and say hi to mom. It was also Aunt Sheila's birthday... Happy Birthday! We celebrated by having dinner and princess cake up at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Friday, we went to the doctor's and heard very good news...I am now 9lbs. 7oz! That means I gained over a pound in a week. Mom was hoping that my waking her up more often at night to feed was going to pay off and it did. So, I am on my way to Cubbyville! OK, maybe not, but at least I am bulking up a little bit.

Easter Weekend

On the Saturday before Easter, dad and Grandpa Matt bought new baby chicks. Dad got 4 for our house and Grandpa got 10 for his farm in Middletown. The chicks are able to live inside for 5 weeks, but dad knew he needed a bigger coop eventually. So, we all went up to Middletown for the weekend in order for him to build a custom roost for the chicks. Grandpa Matt and he worked on it the whole time we were there, while I hung out inside with the rest of the family. Dad and Grandpa did a great job! I am sure the chickens are going to love it.

Auntie Julia came up from San Luis Obispo and it was really nice to get some cuddle time. I hadn't seen her since I was born! I also got to help Gordy prepare for his soon-to-be-born baby. Mom got a little rest as everyone fought over who would hold me next. Teri even read to me in the rocking chair as I dozed off for a nap.
On Easter Day, mom dressed me up in an outfit from one of her students. I think she was excited to get me into clothes that were 0-3 month size...must mean I am growing! I also charmed everyone with a few smiles... Auntie April said I look like a peep in this picture...
In the evening, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Miller's house. Uncle Kevin was home from Honduras , Auntie Sheila showered me with kisses and my grandparents both held me for quite awhile...it was a good day!

3 Weeks Old

So, I am hours away from being 3 weeks old. This last week has flown by! Mom and dad had to take me to the doctor's twice. The bad news is that I have only gained an ounce in 2 weeks. The good news is that I look really healthy and alert otherwise. So, all this week mom has been trying to feed me more. At times, I rebel and projectile vomit all over her and me. It is my little way of saying... I AM FULL ALREADY!!

I have also started to make a lot of funny faces and noises. Here are a few pictures mom took of me when I was waking up...
