Casey & Zakk's Wedding

On July 22nd, the family drove up to Mt. Shasta for a wedding weekend.  We rented a house in town with my dad & Teri, Julia & Bryan, and April & Matt. Friday night was actually my birthday, so we gathered at Uncle Mike's rental house down the street for a little BBQ and fun. The next day, we had breakfast in town, then headed up to Lake Siskiyou.  It was a gorgeous view and the water was a nice temperature, surprising since there was still so much snow on the mountain.  Tanyon had never been in a big open lake, so he entered  cautiously.  At first he just got his feet in, then slowly his calves.  It was a long process to even get him up to his knees.  However, the great thing about Lake Siskiyou, is that the lake stays shallow for quite a while, so Tanyon felt like he was making big headway, but the water level was barely going up. Eventually, he let Aunt April take him deeper, only if she held him really tight.  He enjoyed watching all of the boys play football in the water, although he did not want anyone to throw him the ball, in fear of being splashed. By the end of our time, he did like dipping into the water some and piggy backing around.

Later that afternoon, we got dolled up and headed off to the wedding.  Casey looked amazing and Tanyon thought she was a "princess."  This may be due to the fact that the first bride he ever saw was Catherine Middleton on t.v. for the royal wedding. He would wave to the t.v. and say "Hi, princess!"  Since then, every bride is a "princess." I think it is pretty charming, so we have yet to explain. Besides, shouldn't every girl be a princess on their wedding day?

Tanyon enjoyed dancing with Tete.  In fact, he really wouldn't dance with anyone else that night...
