Diva

So, I have admittedly taken a ton of pictures of Tanyon during his first two years. Now, I am seeing the efffects of doing so. At times, Tanyon insists on getting his picture taken. Then, he will pose for the camera. Soon after the click of the shot, he asks to see the image of himself. Upon review of the photo, he will either 1. Confirm the first shot was perfection and refuse to pose for anymore pictures or 2. Insist we take more until he is satisfied.

Here is my little diva on a self-directed photo shoot on April 22nd.
I just love this kid! He keeps me smiling every day.

Sheila's 40th Birthday

On April 16th, Auntie Sheila turned 40 and we celebrated at her house in Santa Rosa. Lots of her family and friends attended. Tanyon spent his time checking everyone out and sampling as much of the food as he could. That usually meant he took a small bit of something, then tried to sneak it back on to the platter. At 10pm, he was still going strong, but we felt obligated to get him home to bed. Overall, it was a great night and celebration of a wonderful woman.

Patience

Hello Folks,
I beg of you to be patient with new posts. The end of the school year is in a week and a half. I promise to update you all with great Tanyon stories then. Until then, I want to send a big CONGRATULATIONS to Kevin and Kelley on their engagement! Tanyon is going to have a new Auntie.
Love,
Paula

My new friend Owen

In April, Kendra, my best friend from high school, came to visit with her son Owen. Although I had met Owen months before, Tanyon had yet to meet him. Kendra and I walked around Spring Lake together and chatted. Afterwards, we took the boys to Howarth Park. It was Owen's first time playing on the swings and slide, so Tanyon showed him around.

Here they are on the kiddie swings. Owen loved swinging and Tanyon only loved it if he was being swung, "High, High!" In fact, he would complain if I did not push him hard enough for the chains to give slack.
Cute baby Owen, almost a year old:
